Introduction – Introduction

Les noms (nouns) et les pronoms (pronouns) sont essentiels pour construire des phrases en anglais. Ce cours vous aidera à comprendre leur rôle et à les utiliser correctement.


1. What is a Noun? – Qu'est-ce qu'un nom ?

Un noun est un mot utilisé pour désigner :

  • Une personne (person): John, teacher
  • Un lieu (place): school, Paris
  • Une chose (thing): book, car
  • Une idée (idea): happiness, freedom

Examples – Exemples :

  • The cat is on the table. (Le chat est sur la table.)
  • Paris is a beautiful city. (Paris est une belle ville.)

2. What is a Pronoun? – Qu'est-ce qu'un pronom ?

Un pronoun remplace un nom pour éviter les répétitions. Par exemple :

  • I, you, he, she, it, we, they (je, tu, il, elle, etc.)

Examples – Exemples :

  • Anna is my friend. She is very kind.
    (Anna est mon amie. Elle est très gentille.)
  • John and I are brothers. We play football together.
    (John et moi sommes frères.
    Nous jouons au football ensemble.)

3. Types of Pronouns – Types de pronoms

  1. Subject Pronouns – Pronoms sujets :
    • I, you, he, she, it, we, they
      (Je, tu, il, elle, etc.)
  2. Object Pronouns – Pronoms compléments :
    • me, you, him, her, it, us, them
      (Moi, toi, lui, elle, etc.)
  3. Possessive Pronouns – Pronoms possessifs :
    • mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs
      (Le mien, le tien, etc.)

4. Practice – Pratique

Exercise 1: Complétez les phrases avec un pronom :

  1. This is John. ___ is my brother. (il)
  2. Sarah and I love music. ___ play the guitar together. (nous)

Exercise 2: Trouvez les noms dans ces phrases :

  1. The dog is playing in the garden.
  2. Mary is reading a book.
