PSG Secures Spot in Club World Cup Round of 16

Paris Saint-Germain has qualified (s'est qualifié) for the Club World Cup round of 16 (huitièmes de finale) after a 2-0 victory (victoire) over Seattle on Monday. Goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Achraf Hakimi sealed the win (ont scellé la victoire). Thanks to Atlético's victory (victoire) against Botafogo, PSG also finished atop their group (en tête de leur groupe)


The Match: PSG 2 - 0 Seattle

After a surprising defeat (défaite surprise) against Botafogo on Friday, Luis Enrique's squad (équipe) quickly bounced back (s'est vite remise sur pied). Seattle, who never posed an offensive threat (n'a jamais existé offensivement), lost 2-0 to the European champions. The opening goal came in the 35th minute from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in an accidental fashion (sans qu'il le fasse exprès). While turning away from a shot (frappe) by Vitinha that was off-target (non cadrée), the ball deflected (a tapé) off the Georgian's back and into the net.
